Objective and Editorial Policy

JBAS aims to publish articles that contribute to scientific knowledge. Currently, the journal is produced only in an online version, with free access. Articles are published in Portuguese with an abstract in English, or, optionally, in English or Spanish with an abstract in Portuguese.

We accept articles for publication in the following categories: Original Articles, Review Articles, Book Reviews, Reprints, and Dossiers. The Editorial Board recommends reviewing previously published articles as models for the preparation of your work.

Article submission is free for authors.

Submission

Articles must be submitted exclusively through the online submission platform (access here). Simply provide complete author information and attach the manuscript, following the guidelines described.

The article must be submitted in Portuguese with an abstract in English.

The content of the material submitted for publication cannot be under review, have already been published, or be subsequently submitted for publication in other journals. At the discretion of the editor-in-chief, all received articles are reviewed by members of the Editorial Board.

After article submission

The Editorial Board adopts selection criteria that include the editorial profile of the journal and its readers, the area of interest of the main theme of the work, an appropriate title and abstract, well-written text, a well-defined and correct methodology, clearly presented results, and conclusions based on data. The result, containing the acceptance or rejection of the article for publication, will occur as soon as possible.

The order of publication of articles will be chronological; however, exceptions may be defined by the Editorial Board. Accepted works will be sent to the authors and must be revised and returned within the deadline stipulated in the acceptance letter; otherwise, the article will be considered approved and published in its original form. After final approval by the authors, it will NOT be possible to modify the text.

Editorial Board

The JBAS Editorial Board, composed of the editor-in-chief, contributors, and invited specialists in the areas of interest, will be responsible for reviewing and accepting or rejecting articles submitted for publication. The editor-in-chief has the prerogatives conferred by the position to accept or reject any article, regardless of review, as well as to define the edition of its publication.
